Witnesses sought after woman is sexually assaulted by touching in Crawley


Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in her back garden in Crawley.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, stepped outside of her property in Iveagh Close at around 8.00pm on Monday (6th November).

A man appeared in front of her, pushed her back inside the property and sexually assaulted her by touching.

The man is described as in his 20s, between 5’ 2” and 5’ 4”, of mixed race, slim build, with short or shaved hair and a moustache. He was wearing a green khaki jacket, believed to be a zip-up, and green camouflaged patterned trousers.

Detective Police Constable Michael Wyborn said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and we are providing support for her during this time.

“We believe the suspect jumped over the garden wall when he left the property and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen him to get in contact with us.”
