Patient information screens at Crawley Hospital are being used to deliver community safety messages and advice.
The initiative, sponsored by the Safer Crawley Partnership, publicises the free services of four independent charities:
• Victim Support
The screens will also provide a range of NHS information, advice on health and wellbeing, alcohol and drug misuse issues.
The screens have the potential to reach an estimated 80,000 people who pass through the hospital’s Urgent Treatment Centre each year, meaning a wide audience will receive the important messages.
Councillor Nigel Boxall, Chair of the Safer Crawley Partnership, said “The Safer Crawley Partnership has helped to reduce overall crime in Crawley by 40 per cent over the last six years.
“This success would not have been possible without the vital support of local voluntary and community sector organisations.
“Crawley Hospital is one of our partners and has provided us with an excellent opportunity to reach thousands of people who may otherwise be unaware of the community safety services available to them.”
Unique QR codes on the adverts will enable smartphone users to access relevant websites quickly and easily. The information and website details are also available at www.crawley.gov.uk/communitysafety
