St Wilfrid’s Drama Department Present – Joseph & The Technicolour Dreamcoat
St Wilfrid’s talented thespians and musicians are starring in a production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Following the spectacular production of Little Shop of Horrors last year, staff and students have been working really hard on this much loved musical, bringing the West End to their Crawley school once more! The role of Joseph is shared by Joshua Chapman, a Year 13 student and Adam Lay, a Year 10 student with support from a cast of 76 students from Years 7 to 13, with a live band to support.
This popular musical, written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, is based on the story of Joseph found in the Old Testament, in the Book of Genesis chapters 37 to 46. It tells the story of a young man whose ability to interpret dreams enables him to achieve fame and fortune but he must contend with his brothers’ jealousy and a spell in prison along the way.
This year’s production promises to be fantastic and as last year’s outstanding production of Little Shop of Horrors sold out it would be wise to book tickets as soon as possible. The performance runs for three nights from Thursday 10th March until Saturday 12th March 2011. Tickets are priced at £7 for adults and £5 for concessions and are available from Diane Brill in the Student Services Office on 01293 421421
