GH Coaches

Hi All

GH COACHES – our latest news and away travel updates.

Thanks to all who travelled to Newport – everyone turned up for the earlier departure – a full coach with no spare seats – the trips were not too disruptive – went alternative route to avoid the M4 closure via Basingstoke and Newbury on the way down and then came off at junction 14 to avoid the queue coming off at junction 13 on the M4 – back for 9pm having had a short time at Fleet Services for a comfort break

We had another excellent buffet lunch provided by the Major`s Retreat. It’s a pity that we will probably miss going there next season if Newport get relegated and we don’t play either of the Bristol sides. Could do with Forest Green Rovers getting promoted from the conference.

Sussex Senior Cup Final

The date for the Final has now been arranged, it will be played on Wednesday 3rd May with a 7.45pm kick off at the Amex Stadium, Brighton

We aim to run coaches to the game and will depart the Checkatrade.Com stadium at 6.00pm.  The cost for the coach travel is £10.00 for everyone.

Please purchase your coach tickets from us before the game, they will be on sale from this Saturday at the home match against Plymouth Argyle – we will be in Redz from 12.30pm.

If you are unable to get to Redz at any of the home matches coming up then please contact Alain 07771792346 and we will make alternative arrangements for you to pay.

Before the final we have our last two league away matches – the details are below –

League 2 match at Accrington Stanley – Easter Monday 17th April – 3.00pm kick off – 23 booked on.

We depart the Stadium at 6.00am – now brought forward so that we give us a bit of extra time should we encounter traffic problems, the worst that can happen if we have a good run is that we get to Accrington earlier. The costs are Adults £20.00 and under 16’s to £10.00 – We are still talking to a pub for a stop on route, but may not be able to arrange a buffet on this occasion – we are still hopeful and we still have a bit of time so sort something out.

League 2 match at Cambridge United – Saturday 29th April – 3.00pm kick off – 30 booked on – we have the facility to take additional coaches to this game if required.

We depart the Stadium at 10.30am and the costs are Adults £15.00 and under 16’s to £10.00. We will also hopefully be arranging a stop for this trip at the George Inn, Babraham – where we stopped last season.  For any adult that travels to either Newport County or Accrington Stanley – your fare will be £10.00 to Cambridge.

Welcome to the Crawley Town Supporters Travel Group – to be known as GH Coaches

As you can see we now have an official name, we have associate membership of the FSF with our own coach insurance, a bank account and our own travel web site, Facebook and Twitter pages. It’s been a very emotional few weeks since we decided to run coaches to the away games – We would thank everyone who has helped getting everything set up for our first trip to Cheltenham on Saturday 27th August 2011. We are disappointed at the comments being made by others and contrary to what they are indicating, Kevin and I are not taking or will not take any money out, everyone who travels on our coach will pay the appropriate fare – we can confirm that any profits made will be solely used to help subsidise our future coaches and at the end of the season any surplus will be carried over. If, in the future our venture folds, then any profit made we will donated to the Chestnut Tree Charity. Bill Doidge & Tara Greenway will be overseeing the accounts and acting as signatories on the cheques, which we would thank them for their involvement. We would also than those supporters who have made donations to the setting up of the Travel Group.

We would like to thank Dave, Gavin and Darren Brown for their help and assistance in setting this venture up, without that we wouldn’t be in the situation today where we can offer our supporters an alternative travel to away games.

Over the past 20 years our partnership as the Crawley Town Supporters Club has been able to offer supporters a cheap way of getting to games, and we intend to keep this going this season and beyond under our new identity. We know that we are working with a terrific coach company who have great respect in the industry – and whose contingency plans when we went to Manchester for the FA Cup match were very impressive – the work that went on behind the scenes for the big day were immense. David, Kevin and I learnt a lot from the experience, something we all will hopefully use again.

We have now returned to the Half Moon as our base from January 2014 after a few months away, we will be selling tickets and the “Time of the last Crawley goal” will return – we will be sitting at the Half Moon on Saturday home match days – from 12.15pm until 2.15pm, and possible for a short time after the game. If you come into the pub we are situated immediately to your right, by the door. On the evening home games we will be at there from 6.00pm until 7.15pm. We would like to thank Nick, Binny and Chris for use of their facilities. If you can’t get to the Half Moon, then please ring Alain (07771-792346 or E mail

On the return journey, we will still do our drop off’s via Northgate and the Town Centre.

Your Choice

Now its up to you, the supporters now have a choice – you can either use us, the Alliance or the Jacko Express for your method of getting to away games.

This is the start of our second season as GH Coaches and we would like to thank Dave Brown and Crawley Luxury Coaches for their continuing support. Further details of coach travel to other matches will be published during the season as we go.

Again this season, we will not have a membership scheme where one supporter pays more than another to travel, any supporter can travel on ourcoaches for the same fare – some matches we will offer the under 16’s cheaper travel, and hopefully if everything goes as well as last season some fantastic fares for everyone. In the mean time and getting ready for next season please can you print & fill in the GH Form below so that we have contact and emergency details for our records.
