Social care proposals on agenda for scrutiny committee
Adult social care and day services proposals will be scrutinised by the Adults’ Services Select Committee on Tuesday March 1.
The meeting starts at 10.30am, and is being held in the Council Chamber at County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ. It will be webcast via the County Council website at www.westsussex.gov.uk.
Items on the agenda include the Developing Day Activities proposals, looking at day activities and services in West Sussex and how they should look in the future.
Also, proposals for adult social care which could mean the County Council no longer provides for moderate level needs – focussing on substantial and critical level needs only.
Committee Chairman Irene Richards said: “These proposals are some of the biggest to come before us and have caused a significant amount of concern among residents.
“Our job as a scrutiny committee will be to assess the consultation process for the proposals to satisfy ourselves that they have been sound and appropriate, and to ensure that feedback from both consultations has been adequately addressed.
“We will also be looking into the various services that the success of both projects depend on, to ensure that they will be in place in the right locations and at the right time.”
