Metrobus – Remembrance Day Sunday 12th November 2017


Various Routes will be affected by Remembrance Day Events on Sunday 12th November 2017.
Please see full list below of all events we have been informed about.

Routes 4, 5 and 10 – Parades will take place in Crawley Town Centre along London Road towards St Johns Church, delays are expected while the parade takes place.

Route 23 – will be unable to serve Chapel Road OR South Street between 09.00-12.00. Buses will be diverted via North Street, High Street and Steyne Gardens in both directions.
In addition between 10.30-11.30& 12.30-13.00 buses will be unable to serve the Carfax Stops. Please use the Bus Station.

Route 93,98 and 200 – between 10.30-11.30& 12.30-13.00 buses will be unable to serve the Carfax Stops. Please use the Bus Station. Route 93 may also suffer delays in Dorking High Street between 10.45 and 11.30.

Route 100 – Victoria Road will be closed for a parade to take place between 10.30-10.55 and again between 11.35 -11.55. Please note the 11.34 from Horley Library will be diverted after serving Court Lodge via the A23 and will not serve Horley Library OR Massetts Road.

Route 270 – The 09.25 departure from East Grinstead Station will be diverted from St Peter’s Church via Church Street, Spring Gardens, North Road and Queens Road to Churchill Square. The 11.35 return trip from Churchill Square will also divert using Queens Road and North Road. Buses will be unable to serve North Street or the Old Steine. Please also note that the 11.25 departure from East Grinstead Station to Brighton will not be able to serve East Grinstead High Street. Please note delays may also occur in Burgess Hill be tween 10.20-11.10

Route 271 – will be unable to serve the Steine in Brighton between 09.30-12.00. Buses will ad between be diverted via Edward Street and Upper Rock Gardens towards the Hospital. Buses will also be disrupted at several points along the route in both directions. Between 0800 and 1300, buses will be unable to serve Crescent Way, Civic Way or Lower Church Road in Burgess Hill, buses will be diverted via Mill Road, Queen Elizabeth Avenue and London Road. In addition to this buses may suffer delays as the parade passes through Church Road. In addition the 10.50 departure from Crawley Bus Station and the 10.38 departure from Brighton will be diverted via Paddockhall Road. In addition the 11.35 departure from South Road Haywards Heath to Crawley will be diverted via Hazlegrove Road and Heath Road. Passengers are advised to catch the bus at The Priory stop on Franklynn Road.

Route 291 – will be unable to serve the stops at the War Memorial in Tunbridge Wells between 1030 and 1200, buses will be diverted via the A26 London Road and Grosvenor Road, and will terminate at Meadow Road Bus Stand. The 1052 departure back to Crawley will resume from here, and be diverted back out via Grosvenor Road and A26 London Road. Saturday 11th November 2017 the 10.48 departure from Tunbridge Wells will be unable to serve the War Memorial, due to a Armistice Day Service taking place.

Route 400 – will be diverted between 1015 and 1230 in the Caterham area, and will run via Wapses Lodge roundabout, Burntwood Lane and Chaldon Road to terminate at Westway Common. In addition between 1030 and 1130 buses will be unable to serve East Grinstead High Street or London Road, and will be diverted via Beeching Way to East Grinstead Station.

Route 420, 430, 435 and 460 – will be unable to serve Shaws Corner between 1000 and 1200. Buses will be diverted via Brownlow Road and Shrewsbury Road on to Blackborough Road where Routes 420 and 460 will resume normal line of route. 430 and 435 buses will then be diverted via Ringley Park Road and back on to the A25 Reigate Road.

Please also note that various services will be taking place at War Memorials across our network on Saturday 11th November 2017 at 11.00 to mark Armistice Day and delays are possible. Where safe a practical to do so our drivers will be observing a period of silence at 11.00 for 2 minutes on both 11th & 12th November 2017.

There may also be other services taking place on Sunday 12th November 2017 which we have not been notified of and we apologise in advance if disruption is experienced to your service which hasn’t been detailed above.

To be eligible, veterans will need to be wearing their medals or veteran badges and military personnel will need to show their military ID badges.
