Local family support charity Home-Start CHAMS are celebrating their 20th birthday this year and are asking the local community to join them and their Scheme Manager, Liz Roe, in celebrating by talking on a 10,000ft tandem skydive. This fun thrill-seeking challenge is a perfect opportunity to mark this significant celebration and to experience a challenge of a lifetime.
Home-Start supports hundreds of local children each year, with their dedicated team of trained volunteers. They work with families across Crawley, Horsham and Mid-Sussex, helping parents who are struggling to cope with issues including isolation, disability, poverty, and multiple births.
Jumping with GoSkydive on 16th June Liz hopes to celebrate the success of Home-Start and the work they have carried out across the local community over two decades. “Throughout the last 20 years we have supported thousands of vulnerable children and their families – making a real difference to their early lives. I want to mark this momentous occasion by doing something exceptional and I’d like as many of our supporters as possible to join me. By joining our Skydive you will not only be celebrating our success, but also helping us to continue our service by raising much needed funds. Community support with events like this is vital for us to be able to continue offering our support to the local families that need us.”
Aneliese Whittaker, the charity’s community fundraiser said “Are you also celebrating a special occasion? In previous years we have been lucky enough to have had some great celebrations marked with our skydive challenges, we have had people jump to celebrate wedding anniversaries, along with people marking their 40th, 60th and 70th birthdays. The tandem skydive really is open to anyone willing to take a leap of faith.”
The Home-Start Skydive takes place on Sunday 27th May and Saturday 16th June at GoSkydive. To find out more about Home-Start and to join them in supporting local families, please visit www.homestartchams.org.uk or call them on 01293 416327
