Crawley Borough Council, working in partnership with the Crawley Civil Military Partnership (CCMP) are looking to hear what residents have to say about the design of a war memorial to be placed in Memorial Gardens.
The memorial was highlighted a key priority for the town by the CCMP and will remember those who have served in the Armed Forces and those who have lost their lives during conflict.
Officers are currently consulting with residents, councillors and key stakeholders in the area and are inviting comments on initial drawings which are available to view online from today.
The information gathered at this stage will help to form the final design and any comments and suggestions are much appreciated including ideas for suggested themes that you feel should be reflected in the design; and materials that you feel could be used and look best.
If you would like to speak to council staff about the plans then please come along to our consultation events which will take place at the following dates and times:
Monday 8th January– 11.00am until 2.00pm in Memorial Gardens
Tuesday 9th January – 11.00am until 2.00pm in Memorial Gardens
Tuesday 9th January – 4.00pm until 7.00pm in the Civic Hall
Cabinet Member for Community Engagement, Councillor Michael Jones, said: “This is a very important community project and we want to make sure that the design reflects the ideas and thoughts of Crawley residents. I would everybody to get in touch and let us know what they think.”
