Committee cash boost for Crawley Community Groups
FOUR Crawley community groups, plus the town’s annual festival, have received a cash boost totalling more than £3500 from the East Crawley County Local Committee.
The cash comes from the Committee’s Community Initiative Funding (CIF), which is money it receives from West Sussex County Council to support organisations that enhance their neighbourhoods.
The Crawley Festival was granted £1600 towards various costs associated with its setting-up and staging.
The four community groups are:
• Siva Trust, which provides information on health and well-being – £400 towards costs of a phased facilities enhancement plan.
• Cobnor Activities Centre Trust – £1777 towards costs for a one-off, week-long activities project for disadvantaged young people from Crawley.
• CAMEO Club for older people – £444 towards costs of a group holiday and coach hire.
• Parent and Family Care Foundation – £355 for a day of training and respite for parents of children with special needs in Crawley.
Richard Burrett, Committee Chairman, said: “Crawley has a wealth of organisations that are committed to enriching their communities. The CIF enables us to support them in a practical and positive way.”
