Children in Need at Gossops Green Primary School

Money is still coming in for Children In Need after a wide range of activities were arranged to support Children In Need in 2013, most of them pupil led.

Children were allowed to wear spots on their uniform in return for a £1 donation. Sales of cakes and toys were popular and many pupils in Y5/6 were sponsored to be silent for the day – very strange!

Millie and Grace organised a sponsored run round the playground at lunchtime and Sophie organised a ‘guess the name of the teddy’ competition.

Finally, one of the staff, Mr Chambers, agreed to have his hair shaved off if more than £250 was put in a special box – that raised £260 alone.

Jack de Hoedt of J D Barbers and Headline Hair and Beauty of Langley Parade was very willing to assist as he is a long time supporter of Children in Need.

It was lovely to see the pupils taking such a lead in setting up the events, mostly without adult support.

We have raised over £560 altogether – final amount to follow.

Well done to all concerned.
