Children Collect Shoebox Gifts to bring Joy to others

This year, Worth Parish, and especially its Messy Church families, have been collecting for Operation Christmas Child, a project set up by a UK couple in 1990 to distribute shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies to children in need.

Boxes are given unconditionally, regardless of background or religion, to youngsters who have been affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine or disease.

A few of the children who have donated gifts are shown at St Barnabas’ Church, Pound Hill, with their collection of nearly 50 shoeboxes, which are ready to bring a bit of happiness from Crawley to other young lives across the world.
