Broadfield’s youth have a new hangout spot as Broadfield Barton’s play area gets a revamp.

Officially opened by the Mayor of Crawley and Broadfield ward members, it’s now one of the most exciting play areas in central Broadfield and offers play opportunities for children of all ages.

Local schools and families were involved with the consultation and helped to create the design for the expanded play area. The new equipment, including a rotary swing, large multi-play, rope swing and swing set, was installed and supplied by HAGS SMP.

Cabinet member for Wellbeing, Councillor Chris Mullins, said: “I’m positive the improvements to the play area will prove very popular with Broadfield’s younger residents and families.

“The project was part of a programme of improvements for many play areas and adventure playgrounds across the borough. Refurbishing these sites enables local children to be active and get outdoors.”
