Alert – ATM Card Readers tampered with in Crawley


We would like to make you aware that at least 2 ATM machines have been tampered with in the Pound Hill and Maidenbower areas of Crawley.

Yesterday, Wednesday, 20th September, after receiving reports from members of the public, Police found evidence of recording devices concealed in the Cash Machines believed to be recording PIN numbers, on Pound Hill Parade and Maidenbower Square.

We are asking you to be vigilant: if you think the ATM has been tampered with in any way or it just doesn’t appear to be quite right do not use the machine, report it immediately to the Bank and the Police.

If anyone has any information in respect of these crimes please call us on 101 and quote reference number:

1557 19/09 – Pound Hill

1187 20/09 – Maidenbower

We have suffered a spate of thefts of cash from Taxi Cabs predominantly in the Bewbush/Gossops Green areas of Crawley.

Please can you remember to take everything of any value out of your cabs when you have finished work.
