LOVE ON THE TRACKS

Tuesday 29th May 7.45pm, The Hawth Studio Crawley

Six comic tales of 19th century Russian marital woe presented in

a very modern way

Inspired by the short stories of Anton Chekov

Written by Richard Attlee who plays Kenton Archer in The Archers and who recently appeared in Moonlight and Magnolias (Watermill), Arthur and George (Birmingham Rep) is the grandson of Clement Attlee

The Watermill’s latest production is a new three-hander, Love on the Tracks, based on Chekov’s short stories by actor and Russian expert Richard Attlee. It will be performed in The Hawth Studio for one night only on Tuesday 29 May at 7.45pm.

On a train destined for Yalta, fate intervenes and three passengers and a ticket collector are thrown together, all with an improbable tale to tell of love, passion and disaster. In the best Russian manner, their tales of infidelity and happenstance unfold in a number of comic vignettes, creating a series of delightful tales full of unrequited love, marital infidelity, murder, suicide, debt with the odd servant and governess thrown in for dramatic effect.

Love on the Tracks is performed by three actors Richard Attlee last seen at the Watermill in Moonlight and Magnolias; Paul Bigley who has appeared in several television comedies including Just a Gigolo with Tony Slattery, The Fast Show, and Men Behaving Badly; Sioned Jones appearances in the West End include Shadowlands.
