MUSIC AT THE HAWTH

FROM FOLK TO FLAMENCO

The Hawth has two fantastic musical performances in the Studio in May offering the finest of folk and the most flamboyant of flamenco.

Kieran Goss has long been hailed as one of Ireland’s leading performers and songwriters and on Wednesday 18 May at 8.45pm he will be showing why when he performs his Live and Solo show at the Crawley Theatre.

In addition to being a double platinum selling recording artist, Kieran Goss’s songs have been recorded by some of Ireland’s top recording artists, including Mary Black, Christy Moore and Frances Black, bringing his songs to a worldwide audience and winning him fans across the globe.

While his songwriting has made him a star in his native Ireland, his live performances have made him a legend. Live on stage is where Kieran Goss truly shines. The Irish Times recently wrote of Kieran’s run of sold out shows at the Grand Opera House, Belfast: “The sense of fun is tremendous, the playing first rate and the songs sheer quality. The encores were genuine, but only because the man is too”.

On Friday 20 May at 8.15pm, Eduardo Niebla returns with My Gypsy Waltz.

A formidable flamenco-jazz guitar virtuoso, Eduardo is technically superb, poignantly poetic and supernaturally talented. Inspired by tours to India, the Middle East, his adopted Yorkshire home and his mother, Eduardo presents his stunning new albumMy Gypsy Waltz together with music from his acclaimed 30 year career – passionate flamenco infused with a myriad of Eastern colours and a Gypsy-jazz edge.

Brilliantly accompanied by Carl Herring on guitar and Dharmesh Parmar on tabla this is an amazing opportunity to hear world-class guitar playing at its very best.

Tickets for Kieran Goss are priced: £14 (discounts: £12), for Eduardo Niebla they are priced: £15 (discounts: £ 13/Under 26s: £8). You can book by calling The Hawth Box Office on 01293 553636 or you can visit online at www.hawth.co.uk.
