Funding available for voluntary organisations
A grants programme supporting groups which arrange, or are looking to set up services and activities for adults, is open for applications until Friday 1st April.
West Sussex County Council’s Prevention and Wellbeing Programme funds start up costs for services and activities for adults and older people, which meet the aims of the Prevention and Wellbeing agenda:
• Social contact and stimulation
• Activity and exercise
• Occupational/educational activities
• Peer support groups
• Maintaining or restoring independence
Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services Peter Catchpole said: “We would be especially pleased to hear from organisations that provide innovative, community based activities and enable social opportunities for residents to make friends and meet people.
“Grant applications are normally limited to £5,000, but this year we’re welcoming applications for above that value for innovative proposals that tie in with the new model for day services and provide a community service.”
The funding is available for organisations that meet the needs of adults and older people.
