Rosie Melville and the great wall of China trek
Rosie says:
Hello
Next summer I’m going to treck the great wall of China for 6 days in aid of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The charity grants children with life-threatening illnesses a ‘wish’. These wishes can be anything from a trip to Disney Land to being a Fireman for a day. However, they cost on average £4000 and therefore the charity is in great need of funding. Plaese please help me help this amazing charity. I’m grateful for any donation, however big or small
Thanks guys xxx

Tom & Ben’s 3-Legged 12 hour Guinness World Record Attempt
On Easter Sunday 8th April 2012, we (Tom Vanhinsbergh and Ben Le Beau) will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for longest distance run three legged in 12 hours. We hope to run/walk over 41 miles, from Crawley to Brighton and then back to Crawley!
The attempt will be made during the Pillars to Plough, Brighton to Crawley Sponsored Walk organised by Ifield Chestnut House.
We decided to support The Olive Tree as Ben lost his Mum to cancer when he was 15 year’s old. The Olive Tree supports not only the patients of cancer but also the families of cancer victims.
The money raised will go towards setting up a ‘Move More’ initiative (Macmillan) at The Olive Tree that encourages people living with cancer or after cancer to get involved in physical activity. Doctors used to advise people to rest as much as possible during treatment, but this has changed. They now know that too much rest results in loss of muscle strength and leaves you with low energy levels.

My story
I am going to be running the 2012 London Marathon on 22nd April to raise money for the National Childbirth Trust. I am aiming to raise in excess of £2012.
The NCT offers information and support in pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood as well as campaigning both locally and nationally to improve maternity care and ensuring better services and facilities for new parents. Their aim is for every parent to be able to make informed choices relating to their pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

Westy’s Warriors
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I became aware of the amazing work The Backup Trust does through my friend, Barry West. Barry went to the same school as me and a few years after i left, his Mother, Christine made me aware that Barry had been in a serious car accident….he was paralized from the neck down…for life…he was just 19 years old!
Long story short and 15 years down the line, Barry now 34, seventeen people and myself have just made history. Barry motivated us to believe that it was possible to make him the first person ever to reach the summit of ‘Ben Nevis’, the highest mountain in Britain…..we did it….he was right!
Why??? The Backup Trust taught Barry to know know limits, feel the fear and do it anyway and that you only have one life so live it. Barry now lives his life helping other wheelchair users to live life to the full. He is a master motivator, inspirational and exiting to be around. He has showed us all that life is for living and enjoying no matter what hardships come your way. REMEMBER…he is paralized from the neck down!
The Backup Trust woke Barry up, helped him find himself again and thank goodness they did. Without Barry the world of wheelchair users would be a rather duller place, my world would be a duller place. Please take 2 minutes to see Barrys website www.westyuk.co.uk then you will have a better understanding of how important the work of The Backup Trust is. They help thousands of people in wheelchairs (and their families) move on and enjoy a full and exciting life…..but, sitting down!!!
