The Hawth has gained a reputation as being a comedy hot spot for Crawley and the surrounding area, as big names like Rob Brydon, Jimmy Carr, Russell Howard, Ed Byrne and Micky Flanagan headed to the theatre on their tours across the country. The coming months are no exception with the return of some big names, plus debut appearances for some up and coming comedians on the circuit.
You’ll know him from Mock the Week, Stand-Up Hero and BBC R4, up and coming comedian, Nathan Caton takes to the studio for one night only with Get Rich or Due Cryin’ on Sunday 19th February at 7.45pm. Expect an evening of laughs a plenty from the award-winning stand up who tackles everything from race to schoolyard jokes, in a hilarious show that’ll leave you in no doubt why he’s regarded as one of the hottest rising stars on the scene!

Lovable comedian Patrick Monahan blends a high energy style with hilarious and engaging stories of his Irish/Iranian/Teeside heritage with Hug Me I Feel Good on Wednesday 4th April at 7.45pm in the Studio. Winner of ITV’s Show Me The Funny! Patrick will be brining his hit Edinburgh Festival show to The Hawth so come along and see the ‘funniest show in Edinburgh’ (The Guardian) and get ready to laugh and be hugged all at the same time!

On Friday 13th April at 7.45pm, the studio takes a distinctly international feel as the self-appointed German Comedy Ambassador to the UK, Henning Wehn performs his sell-out Edinburgh show, No Surrender. You may well have seen Henning on QI, Dave’s One Night Stand or Edinburgh and Beyond, now it’s your chance to experience teutonic jolliness at its best, live and in the flesh.

When tickets for Jimmy Carr’s new show Gagging Order went on sale for his April date at The Hawth they immediately sold out. So by popular demand, a second date has been added on Tuesday 10th July at 8pm. Tickets for this performance are already selling fast, so those who want to experience Jimmy’s brand new jokes – some clever, some rude and a few totally unacceptable – book now.

Wednesday 17th October, 7.30pm sees the return of the ever-popular Julian Clary with
Position Vacant, Apply Within. Julian is looking for love and he’s not leaving town empty handed. The master of camp is scouring the land in search of love. He’s promised to leave no straight unturned. Julian say’s ‘I’ll be hosting ruthless elimination games. You can be sure of one thing. By the end of the evening, we’ll all be celebrating my new partnership.’ This show is recommended for those aged 16 plus.
