A Caribbean photography exhibition is being held next week to celebrate the presence of the Barbados, Bahamas, Grenada and Dominica Olympic teams that will be training in Crawley.
The Roots and Wings exhibition will be held at The Hawth from 13th – 24th February and is free to attend. The exhibition will be launching the <relay> arts programme which aims to connect artists and communities across traditional, cultural, social and geographical divides.
This exciting and vibrant exhibition will feature artists from the UK and the Caribbean, is linked to partner exhibitions in Barbados, which will be available to view on the internet.
Councillor Lenny Walker, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture at Crawley Borough Council said: “We are eagerly waiting the arrival of the Olympic teams that will be training and staying in Crawley.
“The Roots and Wings exhibition is a great way to celebrate and appreciate the different cultures that will come together to take part in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is vitally important to build not only on the sporting legacy but also the cultural ties the Olympics games creates.”
