The Hawth’s Going Global programme goes from strength to strength with even more great shows now on sale!

The Going Global project has so much to offer those who want to travel the world from the comfort of their theatre seat this spring. There are performances from Japan, China, Australia, Russia, the Caribbean, Africa, Germany and more.

Audiences can look forward to a variety of theatrical delights as Gobscure present the story of three young women from different backgrounds trying to fight the faceless institution in Next Swan Down the River Might Be Black, poet and performer Inua Ellam comes to The Hawth prior to his run at the National Theatre with Black T-Shirt Collection, Kat Francois charts her great grandfather’s journey from Grenada to fight for the British in the First World War in Raising Lazarus and Two Gents return with Hamlet following their performance of Magetsi in the Studio in 2011.

There is music from Kasaï Masaï, who combine the old and new of the country and the city from deep in the heart of Africa. Dance lovers can enjoy performances of the world-renowned Moscow City Ballet plus a rare performance of the incredible work of Akram Khan Company whose dancers come from across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

As always there is lots for the family too – Tales from Old Japan brings three enchanting stories to life for children ages 4 plus. A Roo In My Suitcase is as funny, quirky and cuddly as a bag of marsupials and little ones aged 3 – 6 can also take part in a workshop after the show to create their own roo mask!

Comedy also plays its part in the Going Global programme for the first time this season as Henning Wehn, the German Comedy Ambassador to the UK, takes to The Hawth Studio with is sell-out Edinburgh show.
