ANGLING ACADEMY LANDS A WINNER

Henry Smith MP has offered his congratulations to the Crawley based West Sussex Angling Academy which has won the “Community Heroes Award for Sport 2011” at the inaugural BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey Community Heroes Awards.

Henry said:

“I offer my congratulations to the West Sussex Angling Academy on their excellent achievement on obtaining the Community Heroes Award for Sport in 2011. This award is deserved recognition for all the hard work Graham Cridland, Managing Director and Chairman of West Sussex Angling Academy, and all his team have put in.

“West Sussex Angling Academy, which I am proud to be patron of, does fantastic work by using fishing to help disadvantaged young people and adults, schools, special needs schools, community groups and care homes. They also offer respite days for all members of the Armed Forces to help rebuild their confidence, self esteem and family cohesion.

“Graham has been able to carry out all this worthy work while at the same time working nightshifts for SR Technics, maintaining Easyjet’s fleet at Gatwick Airport. He is a member of the FSB and Crawley & Gatwick Chamber of Commerce and has recently been confirmed as President Elect of Gatwick Diamond Rotary Club.

“This example of dedication to our local community is truly inspiring and a great example for others to follow. I thank Graham and everyone at West Sussex Angling for all that they’ve done with this excellent project and congratulate them again on this deserved award.”
