How can adult learning help you?

A series of events are being held across West Sussex for residents interested in finding out more about adult learning and signing up for courses.

In recognition of the credit crunch, there has also been a price freeze on thousands of courses this year, making it more affordable for residents to enrol.

The information and enrolment events are for residents to find out more about the range of courses on offer through the West Sussex Adult and Community Learning Service, and a chance to meet course tutors.

The Service offers courses to suit everyone, from qualifications such as English, Maths and Computer Skills, to personal development such as art, dancing and digital photography.

The events are taking place on:

· Thursday July 16, from 9am to 3pm, at Bishopric, Horsham (on Market Day in the town centre)
· Thursday July 23, from 10am to 12.30pm, at Midhurst Rother College, North Street, Midhurst, GU29 9DT
· Saturday July 25, from 10am to 12 noon, at Crawley Library, Southgate Avenue, Crawley, RH10 6HG
· Wednesday September 2, 6pm to 8pm, at Midhurst Rother College, North Street, Midhurst, GU29 9DT

· Friday September 4, from 10am to 12 noon, at Southwick Community Centre, 24 Southwick Street, Southwick, BN42 4TE
· Saturday September 5, from 10am to 12 noon, at Adult and Community Learning Centre (Arena Skills Centre), Bognor Regis Community College, Westloats Lane, Bognor Regis, PO21 5LH

West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services, Peter Catchpole, said: “These events are a great way to find out more about adult learning and the range of courses available.

“If you’d like to learn a new skill, but aren’t quite sure what would suit you, then go along to the events and have a chat with the course tutors to get their advice.”
